RTL8367S ethernet switch and Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4
ZynelAbidin , 12-09-2025, 03:05 PM
Hi everyone. Im working on my project with RTL8367S and Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4I want to connect the Ethernet connections of the RTL8367S and the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, and I want to create a switch circuit for the RTL8367S to connect to the Raspberry Pi. I tried something like the one in the pictures, but I wasn't successful. Could you help me figure out how to proceed?

my normal connection is like this. I connected the Ethernet pins in the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 datasheet to the Ethernet pins of the RTL8367 IC on my pcb, but they did not work.

I dont want to use cm4-nano board. How can I establish a communication connection between Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and RTL8367 microcontroller?

@Robert Feranec do you have any idea ?

Hi any ideas on the above

@ZynelAbidin im trying something same type stuck in some placement
Robert Feranec , 03-27-2026, 10:57 AM
but, how did you connect them? don't forget, ethernet is using transformers

Basically @Robert Feranec ethernet switcher type any ideas on it.

I mean what pins ... what signals exactly are connected together. There are at least three different "Ethernet" interfaces: MCU to PHY, PHY to Transformer, Transformer to Connector ... I just would like to know which of these interfaces were connected together between the switch and Raspberry Pi. Because sometimes people try to connect for example RGMII together

Sp basically I m trying to use 2 ICs KSZ8863 and KSZ8081 along with 3 eyernet Jack's @Robert Feranec can you share how can be done
, 03-31-2026, 05:25 PM
How can best be placement done of these 2 Ics @Robert Feranec

Mac to Mac you can say @Robert Feranec

Can anyone please help in the above
Robert Feranec , 04-02-2026, 06:56 AM
what is Mac to Mac?
, 04-02-2026, 01:22 PM
Sorry just shared with these 2 ics im trying for a ethernet switcher design to make

Hi again. I connect directly the rasp pi 4 eth pins to rtl8367 eth pins and its work
ZynelAbidin , 04-02-2026, 08:45 PM
I didnt use any transformers between pi and rtl8367

The transformer sits between the PHY (RTL8367) and ethernet jack.
