Practical matching inner and outer highspeed signal

noisepic , 09-19-2018, 07:21 AM
I must to route signal inner and outer layer require matching delay. They run at different speed, how we compensate for optimize matching?

what do you mean with "run at different speed" are you suggesting that the singal propagation will be different on top/ bottom layer than on the inner layer..

Some software can "calculate" it. For example in Cadence you can set delay rule instead of length.

However, I do not recommend this approach, I would try to route them same way (e.g. both signals on outer layer or bot signals in inner layer). Once we have had a design where signals from the same group where routed all over different layers and that board had problems.

I would love for altium to do pico second delay input.. it saves so much calculation time in excel .. but you really have to know what type of material you use when doing that...
maybe i should switch to cadence.. hmmmm... ehhh... maybe next time..
