What does location actually mean in the Altium part providers preferences?

I am unable to find what exactly is meant by "Location" for a part. Is this:

- Location of manufacture
- Location where it is stocked
- Created by an organisation that is head office in that country
- Something else ... ?
- And why is this relevant here?

I would say it is the location where distributors (like Digikey, Farnell, Mouser, etc.) ship their products to.
If you are in India and have selected United State in the location, you would also get suppliers that do not ship to India.
However, I am not sure it works correctly, as Altium also 'picks' distributors that I did nor enable (or at least I unchecked them)
