Mod-Wire Suggestions

SeargentGranny , 07-24-2024, 06:19 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some suggestions on brand/part numbers of coated copper wire that's used for making small PCB modifications and trace repair.

Everything I have used up to this point has been brittle and burns easily. I am looking for some higher quality wire to use for my repairs.

I just buy what they have and have never had problems, the coating should not burn unless you directly insert it inside of melted solder (I use this technique to peal the coating away from the ends), even then it may not be so easy. It's something like this (I have not tried this one, it is just the first I found): https://uk.farnell.com/multicomp-pro/mp005871/bobbins-qse-0-15mm-dia-wire-violet/dp/3588219

Robert, Thank you for your suggestions. I've only ever used cheap amazon wire.
