Hello Robert,
I have query about the track width in one of your lectures you have mentioned that it is recommended to use the track width which is of the size of the pad and if more current carrying capacity is needed the track width can be increased once it leaves the pad. Attach image (Multiple track width - 1 Photo) for reference.
My queries:
I have some design where there were quite a few capacitor of 0402,0603, 0805 sizes which were of bigger sizes then recommended by IPC and component datasheet ,so I changed them to recommended size which left me with problem of track width refer "Track width 2" and track width is higher then component pad.
What is the recommendation here?
1. Shall I change the component pads sizes to incorporate the track width ?
2. Shall I use the method of multiple track as in image 1?
3. Or can I leave them as it is and what may be the consequences?
Appreciate your help here.
Thanks!

Picture 1, I would leave it, Picture 2, I would move the track so it goes out from the center of the pad - it may look better.
