arbitrary Mechanical layer in Altium 10

In my design, we need to have a chip on board for wire-bonding. Since wire-bonding requires gold on the pad, I need to somehow specify the area that needs to be covered with gold. As a result, I need to create an extra layer in Altium to show this is the area that needs to be covered with gold. I was wondering how we can add an arbitrary layer in Altium design. I'm using Altium design 10.

I would just add a mechanical layer in footprint or directly in the project (depends what is better for you). Then include that layer in your outputs and tell the manufacturer, that it is a negative/positive view.
