How to hide pin numbers for resistors, caps etc.?

wizeus , 08-17-2023, 03:20 AM
I've just started using Altium Designer 23 and want to hide the pin numbers on resistors and certain other passive components.

Is there an easy way to accomplish this on a global level without having to edit numerous symbols?

Global, as in all symbols in your library or schematic?
This should be done in the library.

1) In a schematic library open the panel SchLib List
2) "Edit all objects" from "all components" include only "Pins"
3) Uncheck the boxes in Show Name and Show Designator.

I do hope you have the resistors and capacitors all in their own library (so all resistors together in one library and all capacitors together in another library)

Thank you. I ended up doing something similar since my library is managed via the Altium 365 workspace. I edited the symbols for the relevant components. Luckily they are shared between my needed parts. For some reason, there are many components that are resistors but don't share the same schematic symbol in the pre-made library...I also ended up editing the symbol to show the European type for the resistors.
