Hexagonal Polygon Pour

JohnsonMiller , 12-21-2021, 10:15 AM
We can pour polygons as solid or 90 deg hashed lines, but for flex PCBs, it is recommended to use 45 deg, and better is hexagonal pouring; I am checking options with Altium, but can not find an option to set useing hexagonal shape for polygon pour, any help? do we have such an option in AD?

You could rotate the shape of the flex PC to make the cross hatching correct for the design, vs forcing the hatch pattern to suit the design. Just an Idea. What if you draw a simple polygon, allow the hatching to populate, then rotate the polygon to get the hatching as desired, then shape the polygon as needed for the design?

@WhoKnewKnows , thank you for your reply, but I think you get my question wrong.
For hatched line, either 45 deg or 90 deg, like this image:

it is OK and already applied and AD supports it with no extra effort, done.

My question is for Heaxagonal filling, like this image:

What about using the solid pour and adding cut-outs (copy+paste)?

I don't think you can do Hexagonal filling.

@robertferanec , Yes, your suggestion is correct. Current AD releases do not let us apply hexagonal fillings, BUT in FLEX/RIGID board hexagonal is the shape of choice for the FLEX area, so I hope Altium sees this need and adds it to the options.
