Can't do vertical ports in Altium 20 anymore?

mutski , 10-21-2019, 03:45 PM
Hi all

I just tried opening an old project (I think from Altium 16 maybe) in Altium 20 and all my vertical ports no longer have vertical text. Makes it impossible to read. I've tried making new ports and whilst you can rotate the port ok, the text is always horizontal. See attached images for the old version (taken from a PDF copy) vs the current version of the same thing in Altium 20. I can't find any options. Is this something they have removed? Any ideas other than redoing all my designs to only have horizontal ports?

Cheers - Matt

Under Tools -> Preferences -> Schematics -> Graphical Editing there is an option "Display Rotated Strings as Rotated". It was checked, and I've tried turning it off. Doesn't seem to help. It does however print vertical, but while editing it's always horizontal. Have to keep looking.

Please let us know. That looks to me like a bug and should not happen.
