Hey, in the assembly drawing, when I enable special strings in the view options, I get these .designator strings next to the actual designator name. In the video, Robert turns them on but doesn't get these '.designator' strings. Why do these appeart?

somewhere in altium is a settings which needs to be enabled to automatically replace .designator with it's value. I don't have altium here, try to have a look arround

I think @Robert Feranec just as myself still have a bit the old Altium in mind. I think that Altium now always has the special string 'preference' enabled.The special string option that you enabled in the view configuration is the one that set the ".designator" to be visible.

In other words for you, disable the special string button in the view configuration panel.
