Settings of Show Connections While Dragging of Component

Selin , 12-13-2023, 10:05 AM
When placing components for layout design, no connection is visible. I set from View>Connections>Hide All. However, when dragging the components, I want the links to appear as you explained in the "Advanced PCB Layout Course" Lesson 1. I don't want these connections to appear normally, I just want to see them while dragging the components. How can I set this feature?

Did you hide the "connection lines"

You never see them or only when dragging big components? There is one more setting to check, it used to be here: "Preferences" => "System" => "General" => Advanced => "PCB.ComponentDrag.ConnectionLimit"

Thank you for your answers but I already check the settings. I am sure that "Connection Lines" is not hidden. And I rised the value of "PCB.ComponentDrag.ConnectionLimit" but nothings changed. I took a screenshot of the J1 connector in motion in the attached photo and as I mentioned the connections are not visible. I never see the connections because I set Hide all. I just want to see connections only while dragging the component.

If you show the ratsnets (nsa), do the lines become visible?

Thank you for helping me, I also searched the internet for all the possible solutions you told me and then I found this information: "During component moves, all connection lines are automatically hidden. You may cycle through the display of these connection lines while moving a component. To do so, press the N key while in movement mode. When pressing the N key in movement mode, the Heads Up display cycles between displaying Breaks, Hidden, or Pad To Pad, depending on which connection you'd like to display." The problem was solved by pressing the N key at the same time as moving the component.

Thanks for informing us.
The "net line connect mode" option as it is called when pressing ~ during the drag/move.

I had a similar issue and this solved it.
